Ouch!! This daylily has "spines" all along the outer edge of the daylily. These spines seem to prick at people’s hearts as well. This one is always a visitor favorite. A beautiful lavender bi-tone that opens well and flat despite the elaborate structural gold chartreuse edging. The flower also has a shadowed mauve eye that is more prominent very early in the season. Unlike sharks teeth these spiny teeth seem to be less heat dependent and appear much earlier in the season. At times the edging can appear almost citron green in color. A must have for the hybridizer working on structural edges. Fertile both ways with 4-way branching and 20-25 buds.
